“Exploring Art for the Fun and Love of It!”
This class is ongoing throughout the school year for children being Home-schooled between the ages of 9 – 12 years.
Your child can attend class one day at a time, as it works for your schedule. Or you can have it be your child’s regular scheduled day and time to do Art!
We explore all sort of different mediums in Art. Drawing, painting with Watercolors, working with Oil Pastels, Clay, and this year we will work in creating mosaic on tile and with crayons. We will try our hand at painting on fabric in “Batik” style. Projects that both boys and girls enjoy. Children will learn some Art History along the way with cross-overs into academic subjects. For example, do you know what an Alliteration is? It is a grammatical term that we will draw in a fun way!
For those students who were with me last year, we will revisit blending colors with watercolor paint, but this time we will create a “Color Wheel”. With that, we take a look at similar and opposite colors and how they go together. Don’t worry if your child is new, all projects are geared towards both the beginning Artist and the more advanced Artist. My intention with this class is that all Art is appreciated; that we are all Artists when given the chance and the right kind of environment to create with our own skill and imagination
(By the way, parents often stay in the room during class and enjoy participating in the Art projects too. We truly are all Artists.)
I look forward to seeing each and every one of you here. Let the Creativity Begin!
